Conservation districts have had an MOU (agreement) with SCS/NRCS since their founding beginning in 1937-38. These MOU’s were renewed country wide in 1995-96. In 2015 mostly because of some changes in federal agreements policy it was decided to renew these MOU’s again. Materials were prepared and provided to explain the process and the steps involved with such changes including addressing other agreements that covered exchanges of things of value such as space and equipment AND agreements that included transfers of funds for such items as providing technical assistance to clients. Over half of the conservation districts in the country have finished this process. What remains and why is it important? This meeting explored this topic.
